What is stored on your phone?
To work, Verso stores the following only on your phone. It is never stored by us or on any server:
- The names you type for players
- Your settings (language, sound, who-answers choice, Spark)
- Which cards were played with which group of people (question memory)
- Cards you add or hide yourself
If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.

Online rooms
Online match (Date → Online match, in Verso) lets two or more phones play the same table from different places. It needs no account. When you create or join a room, your phone connects over an encrypted connection to a small relay server we run (relay.lobtailstudio.com, on Cloudflare). During the game only what the game needs passes through it: the room code, the player name you typed, the current card and moves such as next, pass and votes. There is no chat and no free text, and only people who know the room code can join.
The relay forwards these messages while the room is open. It does not read, log or store their content. The only thing it keeps is a random identifier of the phone that opened the room; that is deleted when the last phone leaves, or after six hours at most. As with any internet connection, the connection reveals your IP address; our infrastructure provider Cloudflare processes it to deliver the connection, and we neither record it nor use it for anything else. You can stop at any time by leaving the room or closing the app.
